| Matt & Claudia, that was a great trials! Maybe next year we can do it there when the ground is still damp? I just wanted everyone to know the story about Jean. She had been suffering from shortness of breath and was misdiagnosed with pneumonia. When she wasn't getting better after a week of antibiotics, she went back to the doctor and they still thought she had pneumonia, but kind of as an afterthought she told the doctor she had been suffering from a pain in her leg, so he scheduled her to come back the next day to have a cat scan and they found the clot in her leg and immediately admitted her to the hospital. After more tests they found out the pneumonia in her lungs was actually a bunch of small blood clots. They put her on an IV with medicine that was supposed to stop the clots from growing and make it so they would absorb back into her body. The next day they were going to give her shots that she could give herself and send her home, but they did an echo test on her heart and found that the clots were causing a strain on her heart, so they were going to do a procedure to break up the clots in her lungs. When they got in the clots were bigger than they had anticipated and she went into cardiac arrest. They did CPR on her for 83 minutes and finally got her heart restarted. The next morning they did a test of brain activity and there was none. She was brain dead. There was no chance of her regaining consciousness so we had life support stopped. I am still in shock. I just wanted everyone to know the story. She always enjoyed coming to trials events! I am looking forward to Mokins Bay on Sunday. Hope to see you all there. I know Jean will be there looking down on us! - 67.185.92.218

| I have a suggestion, that I'd like to hear comments on, that I think might help increase turnout at our club events. I propose we add sportsman AM and sportsman PM classes to our roster. Once entered a rider would receive a scorecard like everyone else, they would be free to ride any line(s) they chose in either the morning or afternoon sections. They would be scored by the observer like anyone else, but they would not turn their card. They would keep their cards to monitor their progress or compare with other riders. The club would not order trophies for the sportsman classes or record the scores. Riders could ride a warmup loop in easier sections or ride an easier 3rd loop if they get tired, or simply pick and choose the lines they want to ride. If this generates or maintains more riders at our events the results are more revenue for the club as well as more potential observers at events. The advantage to the riders are being able to ride a marked loop and sections in a noncompetitive manner as well as taylor their ride to their level of fitness and ability. What do you think?
