Connell Trials was alot of fun, enough sun to give ya a little sun burn, some new riders and pretty good sections. Man it was good to get out on the bike again.

Thanks to Layne Davis, Dave Gumm and crew for setting up the event and taking over as we somehow didn't have a schdeduled trials marshall.

Well there is good news and bad news… We ran into a problem with the highway department that would have created a major parking problem at the Little Scotland site, but fortunately after talking to John Isherwood, the COTA club volunteered to hold the Columbia Cup at the Dallesport site and make it rounds one and two of the PNTA points event series. So here is the latest plan: The Columbia Cup will now be rounds one and two of the PNTA points series and will be run on the 19th and 20th of March at Dallesport, Washington. Entry fees for this event will be $20 per day $2 of each entry will go to the TDN fund, and $5/ entry go to the land owner for user fees. COTA had a club trial there on Jan. 23 with 52 riders, the location and event got a big thumbs up. This time of year Dallesport is an ideal location with full RV hook-ups, toilets, showers laundry room, plus store, gas station, and the Shilo inn motel just 300yds down the road, with excellent trials terrain to boot it will be a perfect season opener. Posters will be mailed out in the next couple of weeks. Hope to see all of you there.

All classes including the Vintage will now run on the Sunday, because of the ice storm I was unable to get up to the site to mark out the sections.
So will need Saturday the 22nd to do that.
Everyone is still welcome to practice on saturday, and the location gives you plenty to do on the evening.

I posted this because it isn't too bad a drive for you lads down 84 and the site is right next to it.

Cota are to hold the first trial of the new year at Dallesport on Jan 22nd and 23rd.
Two day event with the first day starting at 11.30am on sat.
Classes on sat, Nov,Int, vintage A,vintage B, the sections will only have intermediate splits vintage A take that line.

Sunday's event will be Novice, Int, Adv,Exp, both days group check.

This event is run out of the RV park, full hookups, showers, bathrooms, food and hot drinks available onsite. The Shilo motel is less than five minutes down the road.

Directions take 84 to the Dalles, take exit 87 cross the river at the Dalles Dam bridge head north about half mile from the bridge to the trial site gas station RV site on left is the trials site.

I was riding there last week and it was dusty, those who rode the last event there in January will know it's nothing like the weather we see this side of the cascades, so don't lett the damp forcast for portland put you off having a superb trial in the dalles.

Been talking with Delbert, we'd like to try and get it in early March, but I don't know if it will be an option for us.
